[When Ayumu gets there, he will find Hizumi standing outside of a large building. Hizumi will wave excitedly once he spots Ayumu approaching.]

Oiii, Ayumu, over here!

[Ayumu stares at the door of the building when he gets close enough to read it, suddenly curious. That name....] What is this place?

It used to be a detective agency. I checked into the building's details - it looks like it's been abandoned. It isn't on the grid right now, so there's no power, but if someone stepped up to claim it they'd be free to do whatever they wanted with the building.

[Hint hint.]

[The coincidence isn't lost on him.... and neither is the 'subtle' hint.] And why would I do that? It's not like I'm related to whoever owned this place before.

[Unless his brother managed to end up here a long time ago.] I'm no detective, either.

But just look at it! It's practically up for grabs!

It's not like you have to work as a detective if you lived there. And if you owned it, you wouldn't need to pay any rent, either!

But why do I need to own it? I don't pay rent now, either.

[Sure, it's more space, and he would like to be a little less dependent on the city's funds, but....]

It's more space, and that way the people of Hinoto-Ri won't be paying for our utilities anymore.

C'mon. We can share it! It'll be way better than the tiny apartments we've got now.

[It goes unsaid, but Ayumu would also have an easier time keeping an eye on Hizumi. But Hizumi wouldn't mind it all that much, either; he enjoys being with Ayumu as it is, even if he's being observed all the while.]

[It did go unsaid, but it certainly wasn't outside of Ayumu's consideration. It would make things easier on the both of them, in the long run, and he could make sure there were no more.... accidents. That, and the benefit of not placing a burden of supporting them on an already wrecked city....]

...You'd have to do half the housework.

[...Is that an agreement? Maybe.]

Got it! No one's used this building for a while, so it will need some cleaning anyway-- I'll start dropping by to fix it up between shifts!

I'll start dropping by when I have time, too. I don't think either of us have much stuff, so the move should be easy.

Beds will be interesting, though... I doubt there's bed frames in there, and I don't think we'd be allowed to take the ones out of the apartments, even if we could find a way to do it somehow.

We'll have to save up for them. [Hmm.]

It's a good thing I got that job at the arcade.

Between furniture to make it livable and the actual utilities, we're really gonna need it.

But after the start up costs, it should still be loads better than what we've got now!

Extra space, extra rooms.... [....A bigger kitchen....] It should be. What about rent?

If we own the building ourselves, there's no one to pay rent to.

No one huh.... Sounds like a good deal to me.

See? Even you have to smile at the thought!

[...Of course, that's not even going into how genuinely Hizumi's been grinning this entire time.]

As long as we keep working on it, it shouldn't take too long before we can move in! Ah, but we had better register it right away, too! Who knows who else might have their eye on it?

I wonder how much abandoned property even exists in this town....? [What with the barrier and all.... but Ayumu can't help but smile a bit. It'd be more than convenient, that's for sure.] We register for it at city hall, right?

It looks like there's a few... Sometimes buildings from our worlds show up here, but if the person who came from that world decides to leave, it sticks around.

I was looking at the records when I checked out this place - it seems that's why there are so many of them.

And as for registering-- you're right. All we need to do is go into the city hall and claim it. It looks like they're fine with giving the buildings away!
